Univolt Venture Capital Fund Launched

Rota Portföy, Öztürk Group/Ovolt, and EVS/Sharz have entered into a significant collaboration in the electric vehicle charging technology sector. The portfolio management company Rota Portföy has initiated the Univolt Venture Capital Fund in partnership with Öztürk Group/Ovolt and EVS/Sharz to facilitate the nationwide expansion of electric vehicle charging stations. With this new fund, Rota Portföy aims to provide innovative solutions within the sector and offer robust investment opportunities to investors.

Tevfik Eraslan, Chairman of the Board of Rota Portföy, Ufuk Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Öztürk Group/Ovolt, and Adil Anjel, Vice Chairman of EVS/Sharz, jointly announced this significant partnership, which is set to be a first in the electric vehicle charging technology sector. The Univolt Venture Capital Fund is expected to drive a significant transformation within the electric vehicle ecosystem. The companies invested in or established by the fund will ensure the innovative establishment and widespread adoption of electric vehicle charging stations, and will also engage in supply and sales activities within the sector.

“Offering New Opportunities to Investors”

In its initial phase, the Univolt Venture Capital Fund will invest in Ovolt Şarj Teknolojileri San. ve Tic A.Ş. and EVS Elektrikli Şarj Sistemleri A.Ş., providing investors with opportunities in the electric vehicle charging services field while playing a leading role in the construction of the country’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Tevfik Eraslan, Chairman of the Board of Rota Portföy, expressed their excitement about taking this significant step towards future energy solutions, stating, “With the Univolt Venture Capital Fund, we aim to create a robust ecosystem in the field of electric vehicle charging stations and contribute to a sustainable future. The widespread adoption of electric vehicle charging infrastructure is crucial for the embrace of environmentally friendly transportation. Through this fund, we will offer new opportunities to our investors and lead the development of this field in our country. We hope that this investment in the future will be beneficial to our nation’s economy.”

“Aiming to Establish a Turkish E-Mobility Brand Globally”

Ufuk Öztürk, Energy Group President of Öztürk Group and Chairman of the Board of Ovolt Şarj Teknolojileri San. ve Ticaret A.Ş., remarked, “As Öztürk Group, we provide services primarily in the fuel sector with Opet Petrolcülük A.Ş., a company we co-founded and in which we hold a 50% partnership with Koç Group. In recent years, our group has also invested in various renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy. Continuing and complementing these investments, Öztürk Group entered the E-Mobility and Electric Charging Network field in 2023 by establishing and obtaining the license for Ovolt Şarj Teknolojileri. We started our journey by opening charging stations at Opet stations and now, under the umbrella of Univolt Venture Capital and in collaboration with the pioneering company EVS, we aim to become one of the strongest players in the sector. With increasing demand for electric vehicle ownership, supported by government incentives, and the insufficiency of the current charging network to meet this demand in Turkey, along with the decreasing trend in fuel usage, we aim to maintain our strong position in the energy sector and establish a Turkish E-Mobility brand worldwide, starting with Turkey. As Öztürk Group and the Öztürk Family, we have earned the trust and pride of our consumers through the brands we created and the social responsibility projects we undertook under the Opet umbrella. With these new investments, we will support the formation of pioneering, leading, and creative companies in the E-Mobility sector. I have full confidence that the companies in the Univolt GSYF portfolio will be leaders in their respective fields.”

“Taking Our Dream to Another Level under the Univolt GSYF Umbrella”

Adil Anjel, Vice Chairman of EVS Elektrikli Şarj Sistemleri A.Ş., commented, “As two entrepreneurs, leveraging nearly 40 years of experience in the petroleum sector, we founded EVS in 2019 to invest in the future and clean energy, aiming to create one of Turkey’s first charging station networks. Today, with our EPDK-licensed SHARZ brand, we provide charging services at over 300 public stations. In the five years since our establishment, we have shared our software technologies with charging network operators to support the sector and new entrepreneurs. This initiative, under the ‘SHARZ CLUB’ structure, has enabled collaboration with different brand charging station operators (roaming), allowing EV users to charge at over 2,000 stations with a single application. Today, we are taking a historic step by partnering with the Öztürk family, one of the most prominent and leading investors in our petroleum and energy sector, to elevate our dream to another level under the Univolt GSYF umbrella. Our goal is to invest in a clean future in line with our country’s vision and to create a fair, transparent, and broad-based investment environment for individuals and institutions interested in this field through a GSYF channel.”
