OPET Board of Directors Founding Member Nurten Öztürk received the world’s first-ever “Social Impact Leader of the Year – Yılın Sosyal Etki Lideri” award at The International Business Awards 2025, representing Türkiye.
OPET also strengthened its leadership in the sector by winning 1 Gold and 4 Bronze Stevie Awards for its innovative projects and social responsibility initiatives.
OPET achieved a significant success at The International Business Awards (IBA) 2025 — the largest awards program within The Stevie Awards — by receiving 1 Gold and 4 Bronze Stevie Awards. Known as the “Oscars of the business world,” the Stevie Awards honored OPET with a Bronze Stevie in the Company of the Year – Energy (Large) category for its innovative “Smart Station” concept, which highlights the company’s forward-thinking approach in the energy sector.
OPET’s “Clean Toilets Campaign,” a milestone social responsibility project that has continued for a quarter of a century, also received awards in three separate categories:
• Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility
• Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Europe
• Sustainability Service of the Year in Europe
The campaign, which has been running uninterruptedly for 25 years, stood out not only in Türkiye but also globally as a powerful example of sustainability and public benefit. The awards on behalf of OPET were received by Sustainability and Corporate Communications Leader Gül Altan at the ceremony held in Lisbon on 10 October 2025.
Nurten Öztürk, Founding Member of OPET’s Board of Directors, was honored with the Gold Stevie Award in the “Social Impact Leader of the Year – Yılın Sosyal Etki Lideri” category — a highly prestigious title presented for the first time this year — in recognition of her visionary leadership that places social sensitivity at the heart of business.
Expressing her pride in receiving this meaningful award on behalf of Türkiye, Öztürk said:
“I work for people, for love, for peace and for brighter days. As business leaders, our greatest responsibility is not to remain indifferent to social issues and to make the power of our work part of the solution.”
She emphasized that “all leaders must act in the same way.”
“A Major Contribution to Transforming the Energy Sector”
In their evaluation, the program jury highlighted that Nurten Öztürk was deemed worthy of the award not only for her exemplary sustainability projects but also for her long-term vision, which has earned widespread recognition both in Türkiye and internationally.
The jury also underlined her major contribution to OPET’s long-standing achievements — such as being consistently named “most beloved,” “most reputable,” and “superbrands” — and to the overall transformation of the energy sector.
The Stevie Awards receive more than 15,000 submissions from over 70 countries each year. The International Business Awards (IBA), the best-known of the nine Stevie Awards programs and organized by Stevie Awards since 2002, presented awards across 22 main categories and 661 subcategories in 2025. The Stevies are recognized as one of the most prestigious indicators of international business success.
